According to LinkedIn, they created the Lite version of their mobile app in 2017 to help user in low connectivity and low bandwidth areas access the professional community.
However LinkedIn announced on the 26th day of January 2022 that the Lite version of LinkedIn will be removed from app stores on the 27th of January and will be disabled on the 15th of March. They stated on their blog that the Main LinkedIn app has experienced a usage growth that is four times more than the global average. This means that person's in these low connectivity areas no longer need the LinkedIn lite app which means it no longer serves it's purpose.
They said they'll now pay attention to helping the lite users safely transit from the lite app to the main app.
